A solitary old twisted tree skeleton stands on ancient rocks at Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park, Northern Territory, Australia.

This photo was taken on the 6km Kings Canyon Rim Walk. There are a few steep sections but it is a beautiful walk around the gorge. By the end I felt a little like this tree!

Mamiya ZM film. as is.

I live in Australia and enjoy bushwalking in the great outdoors, especially the world heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park.

My photographic interests are pretty much related to Australian landscapes, rustic Australia, historic Australia, Australian wildlife, flora, fauna, birds, etc. Guess I love the country I was born and live in.

Very nice. I love the twists & bends of the branches & the deep blue of the sky. Great shot.

Well seen and captured. We weren’t able to do the rim walk as it was considered too windy! We walked up towards the top and were called back down by our guide :( Hope to see some shots from the walk.

  • Hi Trish, thanks for the fav. That was ashame, still you wouldn’t want to have gotten blown over the edge…

Fantastic shot Michael. When I first saw this image I thought it had to be Kings Canyon and when I read on I was right. Isn’t that a fabulous place. I did the walk as well back in 2001 and love it.

  • Thanks for the comment Ralph. It certainly is an amazing place.
