I was born in London, near the end of the war and we were evacuated to the county of Dorset, (in the depth of country), where I grew up and learned to love nature of all kinds and was very happy there. I did well at school and stayed to study in the sixth year.I left then to join the WRAF at age just 17. I studied and qualified for the grade of Photo II after a very intensive training course. At age of 19, I got married and had to leave the service life (that was always the case when anyone got married – at that time) I had 2 boys while living near London, then their father got a new job in the county of Devon, in the south, so back there we moved. Then he decided to go back in to the RAF and I was left holding the fort with 2 lively boys! Eventually, we were posted north to Scotland (where their father came from), in November 1971. I still live there now, after two marriages/divorces, but with the added pleasure of a daughter who also now has her own little girl who comes to visit me and my 4 cats regularly. I was always used to driving – having learnt on the farm’s old tractor at the age of 12, and have driven over most of the UK from north to south, I still enjoy it but can’t escape the addition of years but still drive a lot when I am able and of course, my camera and mobile are always with me; my little grand-daughter is fast learning photography already as she is often with me!
