This is a B+W conversion of an existing pic of the Sagrada Familiar by Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona, Spain, and is one of my all-time favourite buildings ever. This was scanned from a 35mm neg.

I like the “third tower” in this shot. Its slenderness and filigree structure fits well both the architectural and the photographic composition. Great capture.

  • Hi Tomasz, thanks mate, it’s funny I originally hated that there was a crane in the middle messing up the shot, but I actually don’t mind it now and it reminds me that this great building has been so long in the making, thanks again my friend

Agreed buddy, this place is like being in a dream. How i wish i climbed the spire to the top, but that’s a reason to go back! I love the b&w here, i never thought of representing this place in this format, works perfectly, capturing it in a timeless quality. You have even made the crane work and fit in here too. Great piece my friend! :)

  • Thanks my friend. The climb to the top was bloody terrifying, actually it wasn’t that bad, all I kept thinking was, “shouldn’t there be a handrail in here?” as i navigated those narrow stone steps. I guess that’s a hangover from designing buildings in oz, so many codes relating to safety here, they don’t seem to exist in most places in Europe, which I secretly kind of like :). I think I might have told you about the crane on the colour version and how I hated it in the shot, but now it kind of acts as a comment I think, on this poor building and how it seems it will never be finished, Antoni would be turning in his grave.
