Lots of pics of lemons and limes around I know but I thought I would try it myself and I do love a bit of macro and I did have left over limes from my pad thai so…

For those who may want to know the actual shot was taken using an old flouro desk lamp with a bit of white acrylic over the top to make a sort of improvised light box, I then balanced the lime on the acrylic. It also helps to cut the lime extremely thin to allow the light to penetrate the ‘flesh’ and reveal the detail

All the makings for a gorgous image Jus…..a macro, pad thai, and some time! I LOVE this! The details are great as is the light and I LOVE the framing. Instant fave!

  • Thank you my dearest friend, wasn’t really sure about this pic but I wanted to try and see if I could manage a semi-decent macro (oh and I just re-watched “dancing shell”, it’s the gift that keeps on giving lol..so adorable and so funny)

Wonderful light driven geometry……it’s like discovering this fruit for the first time – nuances galore – nice work Jus!

  • Thanks so much Julian, I was surprised too when I wacked it on my home made light box, I just loved the “cellular” detail that popped out with a bit of light

I tried an orange slice some time back but couldn’t get light and detail like this. You have inspired me to try again (or shall I say ‘copy’ you if that’s ok?!). I was wondering if you could include the technical details and submit it to THE PHOTOGRAPHERS VAULT group? And I am never going to live down that video am I?? :) xxxx

  • It was a bit of trial and error to be sure Shell. The trick I found is to cut said citrus really really thin otherwise you just get dark patches, and of course I’ll include the techy bits (anything for you =) ). And you should be pround of that video, I mean look at the responses, you made people laugh and forget the big bad world if ony for a minute or so and THAT is something wonderful
