I decided to play with smoke photography. I experimented with a ping-pong ball.
I love the abstractness of this shot.
No Photoshop here besides minor adjustments.

This is great mate, created a magical orb with the lighting and movement in this. Excellent work Dan!
I’ve done smoke before, but i wanted something more abstract this time. Thanks Andrew
This is so amazing! I can’t believe it’s not edited!Wow, do you mind sharing some of your technique? I’m so intrigued…
My settings were ISO100, 1/80th shutter speed, f16 (i’m pretty sure it was around there) I set up a black background about 2 meters from the smoke (burning incense), tied a ping pong ball to wire and hung it over the smoke, set an off camera flash at full power put it off to the side and faced it at the smoke so the background didn’t get light on it, placed the flash really close to the smoke but not in shot then took the photo :) (takes some fiddling)
i see it like the moon vaporizing.. very nice
Cool, thats what i see it as too.
Wow, that’s very creative. Thank you for sharing :)(I like this a lot)
