No Light In This Tunnel, Shall I Swim?
Its another Question but I hate it above all else, this one is yes or no.
We are all oblivious, and I am no exception. We have our beliefs and we have a reasons for both sides, no one is right and no one is wrong, it just is.
I used to be pretty far into that tunnel, I may be out of the water but I still look back, What if? It isn’t as hard as it looks to get back into the blood stained water, its harder to stay out. I’m dry as you can see, this is the first time I’ve been dry since learning to swim, I’ve never been out for this long. I miss the wet sometimes, how ridiculous is that.

Wow Daniel – even without knowing the story behind the events that occurred during this shoot I have to say that is image is outstanding. Great vision and perfectly executed. Cheers, S.
Daniel Angeles replied
Thank you, I am ever so proud of how this turned out. the water was actually red in the original shot so i just amped it up and it came out perfect. I Did not think it would work out on that night.

Great work mate. I love what you are putting into your shots! I think a lot of people would look at a picture like this and identify.

Wow, this hits home so hard for me mate. The amount of personal experience you pour into your work is so respectable. I have to say, aside from creating incredible work, well done on making it out of the tunnel. We all look back and wonder if a quick visit back is worth it, but it’s nice to know it’s an option now. Your portfolio is so inspiring to me.
Daniel Angeles replied
Thank you so much, I guess i use my work to express myself, If i ever take a simple capture i always fall for it, but then i think, hmmmm, there needs something else, as soon as i add myself i get that personal feeling and emotion i’m looking for. I guess maybe i’m not very good at capturing a scene, landscape, skyscape or whatever, maybe thats it. Ha. well i’m only a month in, i still have plenty of learning to go.
again i thank you.

Wow – quite a surreal, dystopic scene. That tunnel is mesmerizing, and a little unsettling too with the blood red blocs of colour surrounding it. Reminds me of a good 1980’s dystopian film somehow. Beautiful comp
Daniel Angeles replied
thanks so much for the interesting analysis.
I appreciate it.
Tama Blough
I really like the tunnel thing and the color and all that but what I keep looking at in this is you. The way your legs are placed and the breeze on your coat, and just your posture in general is really compelling. Looking into the abyss but ready to move forward. I can’t quite put my finger on how it makes me feel but I love it.
Daniel Angeles replied
very interesting to hear. thats the good thing about art, you can feel whatever you want to feel from a work, you can never be wrong, what i feel may completely differ from what you might feel, once it you work out what that is as you say.
thank you Tama, always appreciate the comments.

This is one of the more incredible images I have seen lately. At this moment I’m quite mesmerized. After reading your words I have one interpretation of this that is very personal to me, but then the actual meaning may only be metaphorical … hard to say! Amazing work nevertheless. And yes, it gets easier and easier for me to stay OUT of the water everyday :)
Daniel Angeles replied
It does have quite some personal meaning to me, The writing i have made to mean whatever the observer wants it to mean to them, your interpretation cannot be wrong.
I use ‘I’, because it is me, but when you read it it is you. the tunnel and water can be anything, sickness, pain, hate, addiction, heart ache, depression or whatever you can relate it to.
I thank you, and i really appreciate that you enjoyed this and shared your insightful, kind words.

Thanks, If only i could have a handful of models following me around, it would be so much easier getting these shots…
I find myself liking the shots more when i’m in it, it feels more personal, the meaning and feeling i’m trying to convey hits me stronger, seeing as its me i see.

You really have your own style Daniel – strangely enough I clicked on this image after jacqleen favourited it, not looking at who took it – and guessed it was you. For someone so young, thats really something to have your own trademark! Love the shot, the sea of blood is really striking and there’s a lot of interest in the composition.
Daniel Angeles replied
That is so cool, never thought i would have a Trademark,
Pleased you like it, thanks so much.
