The Hoad through my window

Hoad Monument is Ulverston’s most famous landmark. Erected in 1850 upon Hoad Hill, it commemorates Sir John Barrow, a founder member of the Royal Geographical Society and an intrepid explorer. The Hoad Monument – also sometimes referred to as the Sir John Barrow Monument – is a replica of Eddystone Lighthouse.

Looks rather dreamy; the lighting is lovely. Even after his passing the world has many wonders to explore.

  • Thank you Mui-Ling! Glad you like!
