According to the website below, all of Obidos has been declared a national monument.
In 1148 Dom Afonso Henriques recaptured the town from the Moors. Later in 1282, the King of Portugal Dom Dinis made a wedding present of the town Obidos to his new wife Dona Isabel.
[typo correction – you can delete the first comment] Very picturesque! I often Google for information when I run across something I am not familiar with, and not having heard of Obidos, Portugal before, that’s what I did this morning. It sounds like a very interesting place, and I was surprised to see a picture with almost the exact same view in Wikipedia. (It’s not yours, though – all the shadows are different.) Excellent depth, from the leaves in the foreground, over the roofs, to the tower and hills in the distance! =)
Thanks Ben! I hadn’t heard of it either until going there. It must be the spot to take roof shots from! lol! Maybe I should have taken it landscape instead of portrait, but I just wanted to get a bit of the wall in the background. Appreciate your comments! :o)

Great shot – I have been walking on the wall, all the way around :)
Thanks Julie! I did a little bit of it – Quite some view from the castle wall! :o)
