According to the website below, all of Obidos has been declared a national monument.
In 1148 Dom Afonso Henriques recaptured the town from the Moors. Later in 1282, the King of Portugal Dom Dinis made a wedding present of the town Obidos to his new wife Dona Isabel.
Beautiful shot! With the Moorish influence on architecture, there must be a lot of beautiful buildings in Lisbon. It must be a treat for a photographer.
Thanks so much Kathleen. I only wish that we could have had more time in Portugal. I did get quite a few ok pics out the window of our motorhome as we drove by Lisbon. Unfortunately we were on a fairly tight schedule to get to Italy. Maybe next time! :o)
