Since 1361 people had flocked to the chapel dedicated to Stephen S. on this site.
On August 4, 1748 a committee was elected for the erection of a shrine dedicated exclusively to the famous Lady of Remedies. Two years later the foundation stone for construction was laid. However, the work dragged on and it wasn’t until September 1905 that the shrine of Lady of Remedies was completed.

Well worth the climb of 686 steps!
