Also known as the “Igreja dos Clérigos” or sometimes called the Capela dos Clérigos (Chapel of the Clergy) by the locals, is attributed to the Italian architect, Nicola Nasoni, the 18th century master. It’s a baroque church and visitors can see scenes from the lives of St. Peter and St. Paul depicted on the ceramic tiles in the interior. There is a Renaissance panel in the chancel dating from the beginning of the 17th century. Capela Nova is the finest baroque monument in Vila Real, Portugal.
