Have a seat at the Honey Farm Shop

Featured in Statues and Such

Nestled in the small rural village of Chudleigh is “The Honey Farm”, a specialised retailer of honey and honey related products, including Active Manuka Honey.

Chudleigh lies in one of the prettiest valleys in Tasmania. All round the village dairy cows lazily graze on lush green grassy meadows. Whilst in the back drop the majestic Great Western Tiers rise formidably in all their splendour. Chudleigh is 15 kilometres west of Deloraine, along the B12 which connects Deloraine with Mole Creek and Cradle Mountain.

Honey is one of the world’s oldest folk remedies. It has been used in ancient times by the Egyptians and the Greeks. Honey was also used extensively in medicine until about 50 years ago when pharmaceutical companies began to promote the use of antibiotics. Since then many bugs have become resistant to these antibiotics and honey is again coming into the mainstream. There are many healing and health benefits of Honey!

Oh this is delightful- love to honey taste- I should have been a bear-use it in almost everything!! only pity is it looks wet there – but an excellent image Marilyn!!

  • Thanks so much Pauline! I so love honey too – use it in everything as well – We buy a 27kg tub of Yellow Box from our local apiary – at least 3 a year! It was a very unique honey shop – The best part was tasting all the different flavours of honey! xo :o)

Lovely capture here. I haven’t been there yet, but my little grand-daughter went last summer. She loved all the colourful characters around the place, and I see you have the pics of them here. Very bright and great information.

  • Thanks so much Sharon – Have another pic to upload – one for the kiddies! xo :o)

Yup honey has quite magical properties…helping wounds and burns to heal…and great on toast at breakfast. This looks a quaint little place Blossom. We have a wee honey shop about 20 mins drive away…doesn’t have such a cute exterior as this one though ~ Anni :) xxxx
