It took approx. 8kms of 4WDing along the beach to get to Vrilya Point where this ship wreck lies. Had to let our tyres down to 16!

Built in Scotland in 1926, the Carpentaria Light ship drifted from its position 52 miles west off Cape York during the monsoon season in the early 1980’s and was stranded on the west coast near Vrilya Point.
