yes love this I just love ferries .. did you know…hehehe in the olden days children, we had to use 5 ferries to get to Qld from Vic in 1961 and then again in 1965 may have replaced some by then not sure, but across the Richmond etc . Imagine how slow you’d find it travelling now.

Great shot and information – the Hawkesbury River still has four vehicular ferries, fully manned. I never tire of crossing the river this way.

Wonderful image! Put our car across on a ferry at a crossing similar to this years ago in Nova Scotia. It was short, but sweet ride.

Wonderful color and detail, I had to look for a moment to see that it is a cable ferry, I have crossed rivers many times on one of these, amazing how they use the current to push them across the stream. Very well done.
