Fathers' menopause
Fathers' menopause belongs to the following groups:
! Creative Writing & Poetry !, All Out Emotion, All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical and Flash FictionI am tempted to follow her pain outside to cheer her up. I am tempted to pick her up when she falls down, but she says, “Daddy, I’m fine. I can take care of myself.”
So I leave her to the city, the source of all evil. I leave her to her boyfriends, their blatant lies, and her fiancé. I leave her to the pervs, the stalkers, the sex offenders that infest the streets where she walks.
I let her go. She will be fine; she told me. And it’s ok because she can take care of herself.

Wow, the things a parent tells himself to stop jerking the reins. It must be hard, hard, hard to let go, when they think they know so much, yet are still walking innocents; but you know so much more that would take another lifetime to tell.

I like it a lot. I know my parents went through hell, or at least to counseling. :)

parents go through a lot for their kids. We owe them so much more than we can ever give back. I’m grateful, but I feel that it’s not enough .
