The Explosion

when i found out it was her
not me
this heart of mine
you wouldn’t believe
had had too much
do you see all the bruises, cuts, and scrapes
minor injuries and the major
the patching
the stitching,
all the so-fine needlework
was it all blown into oblivion for nothing
when a heart has so many hairline fractures
finally
there will be one more
and that last trivial one
it will be the one that connects them all together
and we’ll watch together as my tender heart
shatters into a million tiny shards of cold hard glass
and when that explosion occurs
look at the stitch work and patching
all that so-fine needlework
the so-thin silk stitching of every break
watch it all be brutally ripped apart
and the patchwork
all the patches so tenderly applied over many a gaping hole and gash
watch as those patches as in a quilt tear apart at the seams
we’ll watch and see what becomes of this explosion
a million shards are all that are left from this cold, glass, broken heart…
you see your reflection looking back at you
dead inside…

can a heart with this many hairline fractures ever love again?
doctors diagnosis: no… </3
