Do you remember
when we were young
you were dumb
and i had fun
tying you up?
i wanted to beat you
to beat some sense into
your miserable little brain
but no matter how hard
i pulled on your strings
you were still the same
String
This is a poem i wrote in 1997 (age 14) after I had left DC, about a girl I grew up with and an incident where she let me bind her hands in string and drag her around the neighborhood. I had some problems with violence as a child, but Ive been able to alter my behavior and understand it better as Ive grown.

Very insightful for a teenager! :)
I started writing at an early age, as well.. I think I wrote my first poem when I was 12. It’s very therapeutic – especially during the tumultuous teenage years. I trust your writing has helped you through some of your issues, as well. ;)
Good work!
