Billy (?) Thank you for your comment on my painting “Can You Hear Me Now?”. Recently an “Archibald” artist has made contact with me and apart from a growing friendship with he and his wife and family, he is giving me the most wonderful constructive advice regarding my paintings. Like you, he also paints on boards. A form I am about to discover. He has termed me as an “Expressionist” and encourages me to continue in this form. He has also suggested I study the work of the four (french) fauvs. Your use of vibrant, bold colours and ‘free’ almost naive use of form remind me a little of mine. This particular piece I love, and I can see it’s something I can learn from.
