Sun Demon
This is an illustration I did of the sun demons from a friend of mines story (Alice Oates and her writing). As of yet, she is undecided as to accept this design for them, as she had her own initial design – I just proposed this version as something that looked a little more demonic.
Anyway, this was originally a particularly rough sketch that I neatened a little to give a better sense of what is actually going on – there are quite a lot of limbs for a start. It still wasn’t particularly clear as to which wing went where and so forth, so I coloured it in photoshop after scanning. This time round I experimented with adding some shading, something I didn’t bother to add to my Steampunk Samurai so hopefully it was worth my while, as it takes ages to do it (bearing in mind I don’t own a graphics tablet and so do it by mouse or touch pad) Hopefully you’re able to see where each wing joins the main body and so forth, but even if not – meh.
