Steampunk Samurai

Well, this guy is some hybrid between clockwork mechanisms and a suit of samurai armour. He happens to be a little battered in places, you can see some hasty patchwork and means of keeping his casing on – poor thing.

It was a pencil drawn sketch that was scanned and then coloured with photoshop (please bear in mind that this means some colours may subtly change every now and then, when I look at it again and think that one bit looks a little off).

As a side note this is the first time I tried this method of colouring (an experiment, you might say), so I left all the tonal variation to the initial sketch and used purely blocks of colour.
