Fairy Tales: Understand?

Seeing the scales
The task is clear:
Run Boy, Run.

I see green,
it encompassses all:
Desire flaming for that emotional respite of the first time.

Danger ahead:
Excess, you didn’t learn this?

Dragons may be pursued,
But they are only caught by virgins.

I came rather late to poetry and even later to photography. I have graduate degrees in philosophy. I realized sometime ago that nearly all of my work makes some sort of implicit argument, and it often makes rather esoteric references to philosophy. Sorry: not trying to be turgid. It’s what I know, and it what Pan whispers into my ear.

You may find my newer, more formal photography at: http://rbgphoto-rusty.blogspot.com/
Thanks, Rusty

This is very ominous, I must say.m Green can mean so many things: envy, jealousy, straight up nature; reneal and hope…so many more. Scales – balance, or need of it, and want of renouncing of the same. Excess is one of the hardest lessons to unlearn. HARD. and only the pure of heart shall ever catch that precious gift. am i close? or am I so off it’s silly. either way, excellent, as always. K

  • Kat,
The excess is the taking of drugs. The green and scales belong to the proverbial dragon, which all drug users seek.

Rusty, some heavy writing. Addiction comes in many forms and kicking any addiction is hard. You did good here.

    EXCELLENT verse:
    I see green,
    it encompassses all:
Desire flaming for that emotional respite of the first time.
