The Symbiosis of Nature by Rusty Gentry

In the year since I have been taking photos, those of flowers have become my passion. The complexity and variety of flowers is mind boggling. They have given me a new appreciation for nature, in general, not to mention helped me to get the dog in my cranial space to chase it’s tail. After all, if you’re always in your head, there is no way to capture, what one hopes will be that special shot.

While photographing these Azelea’s—-blooming in March in SC—I was pleased to have a visitor, which is always a nice surprise.

I came rather late to poetry and even later to photography. I have graduate degrees in philosophy. I realized sometime ago that nearly all of my work makes some sort of implicit argument, and it often makes rather esoteric references to philosophy. Sorry: not trying to be turgid. It’s what I know, and it what Pan whispers into my ear.

You may find my newer, more formal photography at: http://rbgphoto-rusty.blogspot.com/
Thanks, Rusty

so very true your words here and a wonderful capture, love your visitor(smile):)

  • Thank you, Robin. Alas, I believe I bleached too much color out of this one. I’m going to repost the same photo. The difference will be that it is a straight from the camera shot. I am learning PS and go crazy at times. I’d love to know which you prefer. Thanks, my friend, Rusty

Wonderful description and image …. get out of your head more often!

  • Hey you, I don’t fucking take orders. “My head won’t leave my head alone/I don’t believe it will until I’m dead and gone.” You know I’m joking, about the first sentence. No offence, so don’t worry. Your portfolio is blowing my mind. I need to seriously think of rejoining the community. Yet, I refuse to play nice for anyone whomsoever! It would ruin my reputation. hehehe xo, ME
