It’s mostly about my job…but I guess a bit about me too…LOL…read on :))
I slipped into a sea of wanting;
Not wanting of anything but striving for everything.
Being thrown by the wind this way, and that.
And seeing,
yes,
seeing:
All that I was before.
All that I will be once more.
All that I am, all that I was, all that I can be…I am.
So slipping beyond this and that, once again.
Not nodding to him or to her.
Just being beside the clatter and clang,
All around.
Not a tear, not a yearn,
Nothing more, nothing less.
Open my eyes and see…
So much more to learn.
On with tomorrow while on with today,
Never quite knowing the right things to say.
Yet the right is the wrong and the wrong is still right;
So in morning it’s day, and in evening it’s night.
And Now seems to stretch beyond darkness and light…
Eyes wide in wonder,
No terror left here.
Just staying and staying and staying….
I wonder out loud if I’m on the right street.
They’re going left while I’m dragging my feet.
And the cars whiz right by without blowing their horn,
So I stare and I stare and I stare.
Words, endless words;
Without meaning and with.
Words that slap harder than a concrete kiss.
Faces with names that I just can’t remember.
Names without faces I just can’t recall.
The phone rings again,
Is it now over there?
He leans on my desk…
A shower dear sir??
So I live in the moment and reach for a tic tac,
Will I live in the now in the midst of a heart attack?
Not a tear, not a yearn,
Nothing more, nothing less.
Open my eyes and see…
So much to learn.
So much more to learn.
Always learning and growing, I feel ten feet tall…
Only to learn;
I know nothing at all.
