Flying Fortress by Blake Rudis

I had the opportunity to photograph a B-17 at the Moffett Federal Airfield last week, this aircraft is amazing, the amount of fire power on this aircraft is something like a phenomenon. I cannot imagine being behind one of the guns in this aircraft during World War II.

  • Nice! Is Redbubble an Aussie thing? I see a lot of Australian influence here and quite frankly, it’s unfair! you guys have some amazing places to photograph!!!

I love the POV but the exposure and those clouds don’t stay far behind. Excellent capture Blake.

  • Thanks Roca, I am still learning this HDR thing, read a couple of books and my frustration with their tutorials go too far on the artistic side, I think maybe if I duplicated the layer and adjusted the Curves on the clouds, maybe a little blur, might make the image more striking, thank you for the comment!

  • Fixed the clouds, pushed them away a little bit

This is a striking capture as it is and the HDR only made it more so. I noticed the clouds ‘edit’. Great job Blake and don’t get too frustrated. (I know what you mean though even though I have not even played with HDR as of yet!)
