Funny question …................. is his ears okay ? I am asking because I truly don’t know and if this is normal it is the first time I notice their funny “frilly” ears !

  • Leena Hedman replied

It ok.. When these bygmy hedgies are little, the ears are more uniform, but when they grow the ears will look like this. The older the critter the frillier the ears. ( Daisy is 4) Completely normal! =)

What a gorgeous little Mrs Tiggywinkle! I thought she was a baby until I read above.

  • Leena Hedman replied

She is in her golden years now at the age of four. These critters have unfortunately a very short lifespan, much like hamsters. Thank you for your comment!

Do you keep a colony or pack of hedgehogs or is she a wild rescued one…..Soooo cute.

  • Leena Hedman replied

Hi Pete! I have only one hedgie, I just take a lot of pics of her..lol!!! Daisy Mae is an African Pygmy Hedgehog, she came from Mark’s Ark. We don’t have wild hedgies here in Florida. In Finland, where I was born & raised, we have the “normal” size hedgies with slightly different features. Thank you for your comment!!
