You know how much I love your devastation pictures..Much more for the love yoou put and them and the poetic wisdom it encloses than the beauty (that… paradoxicaly it has) of the objects and pic. It is amazing how that which is devoided of Soul.. can decay .. the wrost thing is the forgettiness…..not time….neither decay.. but the abandoning…as in this hospital. It is obscene. Don´t you think?

So amazing how nature can destroy what man builds. This was probably a fantastic building at one time!

i agree with you completely, and that is why i do what we do. i think we should never forget these places and what took place in them. they are sort of hallowed ground to me, and that is why i love them so. i hope that translates into my pictures!

    This is for ericseyes..
i d not think Nature desroys what man builds…
I think that it is man the destroyer…Nature just put things where they should be… in the organic status of its natural development. As far as i am concerned I am very glad that grass can reaak the concrete and irrupt in such a way in the wayays… or that old wrecked ships can be turned into coral homes….or molusc s dwellings of many forms. Nature is building, creating Life in everyplace and to tell the truth… our unconsciouness is just lethal.
Sorry for using this thread… hope you do not mind it..

actually, i agree a bit with both of you. i think nature is an awe inspiring thing, and i am constantly amazed at how it mimics and compliments the order and logic of man’s architecture in such unpredictable ways. nature by itself is beautiful, but nature mixed with man’s work is divine. but i can see eric’s point also, in that for the original intent and purpose that the building was built, nature has destroyed it… only to give birth to something altogether different and unique.

and of course i don’t mind you using this thread. i take pictures of these places specifically because they encourage looking at our ordinary life through a different perspective :)
