This is great! Love the colors and her skirt! A FUN shot!

It’s a burgandy/pinkish tulle skirt I use for some of my more ‘contemporary’ clients that appreciate portraits that aren’t so traditional. It’s easy to make (in every color!) and makes the shoot more fun and relaxed for the kids. it’s simply a ribbon for the ‘waistband’ and 10-15 yards of the nicer, wide tulle. I think it’s about $10 at the most for 1 skirt like this one that’s on a 6 year old.

Maybe I can have my sis n law make something like this. Its too cute. They make a lot of tutus and princess stuff I use for younger aged girls. But this is nice for the girls a bit older….. very posh… :)

Thanks! I might try making one for my daughters… :)

For anyone interested in how I made the skirt, it takes very little effort. I’m sure there’s many ways to do the same thing, but here’s what I did: I cut the 2” wide satin about 2x the length of the average 6-9 year old’s waist. I cut the 36” wide tulle into about 2 yard lengths. I folded the tulle in half and knotted it around the ribbon waistband. It’s a cheap, fun prop, plus, it’s easy to trim the bottom of the skirt if it turns out longer than you wanted!
