We were awestruck by the wondrous torii gates at Fushimi Inari, just outside Kyoto, Japan. You must come here in the early afternoon (before it gets dark) and spend at least 2 hours exploring these gates that continues on and on across the hills and comes in various sizes.
Climbing is required but was a very pleasant stroll through the gates beneath the swaying trees and there’s always a breeze so it’s very cool.
We were there 4ish so we couldn’t complete the entire route. However the light from the sun filtering across the trees and gates was gorgeous
