Slow drift
There’s a beautiful soft light in this part of the world. It always seems to me that the further North one goes then the softer it becomes. Sunset was around 1630 and the relative position of the sun to the Moray Firth at this time of year now seems to accentuate that soft feel. I was only at this location for under an hour but during that time I managed to see some dolphins, a rainbow, the moon rise, the sun set and a guy with a Labrador that almost knocked me over. The lab that is :))))
Taken from West of Lossiemouth in Moray, Scotland looking to the North West.

hey Jim…..I just love this …I know what you mean about the soft pink sky in the northern hemisphere …you have done an excellent job in capturing the mood of dusk …..with the longer exposure it seems to merge time add space…..that take talent mate
Jim Robertson replied 27 days ago
Cheers Steve. You for sure know all about soft light :)

Got to be proud of that one Jim ;o) You get some amazing skies up there too!
Jim Robertson replied 27 days ago
Hi James. Yes thank you. Skies are something at this time of year. I’ve said it before but I’m a real sucker for this kind of image. It’s the feeling of being able to react with the sea I think that draws me to them. :))

This is like a beautiful watercolour Jim…you sure make some beautiful art with that camera of yours!
Jim Robertson replied 27 days ago
Many many thanks Angie. I take your point about a ‘watercolour’. I thought that as well. All seems to depend on shutter speed in relation to wave speed. :))
