We came across a pride of lions in a tree in the Masai Mara game reserve in Kenya. Quite an unusual sight to see a lion up a tree, but it had just rained and apparently they don’t like the insects that emerge from the grass when the ground gets wet.

oh wow wow …what a beauty this is is…great eye
Great shot bishop!
Hi Bishop,I adore this photo and your storytelling is wonderful. My only complaint (I haven’t master yet either) is the lower portion of the photo – the sky it totally washed out. Composition, fine details, interest in subject, etc. are all excellent.Take care, Bonnie
beautiful shot in the right place at the right time … don’t think I like the idea of lions in tree ready to pounce
Thanks for your comments aphoto4you, Helene, bonnie and cozmist.
wow a wonderful capture.
Smart move, I’d say. There’s something kind of sweet about such powerful creatures not liking bugs! Nice shot!
I find it quite funny that a big cat would climb a tree to get away from some little bugs.
I guess climbing a tree to get away from a big pussy cat would be out of the question.
What a magnificant creature and a fabulous shot!
Thanks for sharing this!
