White Rhino

White Rhino by Sharon Bishop

White Rhino

Time to reverse I think…... (taken at Luthuli Game Reserve, South Africa).
One of the most distinguishing differences between the white and the black rhino is the shape of the mouth. The white rhino is a grazer and has a square mouth while the black rhino is a browser and has a hooked lip.

What a wonderful photo! That is exactly why I was happy the Rhino I took photos of was a bit far off. This is a huge beast that you do not want charging your vehicle.

Good Lord! This is one fabulous photograph! What a magnificent animal. I have no idea of the difficulty in obtaining this photograph, but I can tell you that I would love to see one of these beautiful animals in the wild in their habitat. Fantastic work, this is quite stunning! I fear that opportunities like this will become more and more scarce. Cheers! Chris

    Hi Sharon,
Excellent in everything. I wish you would have cropped a wee bit from the back of him, so not to be in the center & to show us where’s he’s headed. Great, educational story – thank you.
    Take care, Bonnie
