"The Visitation"
Acts 12:7 †

and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on

Amazing work Birgitta… this is wonderful. I’m not sre if you created the image and then pt the words to it or created the image to interpret the words… whichever, you have done a stellar job in matching the 2 together!
I love how you have created the darkness withing the prison with the dark blue tones, which remind me of ink washes in an illustration and then the feeling of light outside with the glimpse of an angels wing is wonderful.
This really is powerful work…
Birgitta replied
Ya know, actually, I made this before thinking about that
particular Scripture. (But it was probably lying around on
a shelf in my mind, subconsciously.) I’ve always liked that story-
and have drawn much strength & encouragement from it.
(feeling like I, myself, have been there..done that..etc.)
Thanks for stopping by. :)
chemis

not religious myself, but this work is incredible and it does fit well with the scripture you chose!

I cheat because whatever Paul Tupman adds as a favourite, I usually love too. And this is no exception. There’s not many images that cause me to break out in praise, but this one certainly does. Just wonderful in all respects!

I like this a lot. Its refreshing to see Christian art that doesn’t look “Christian”, if you know what I mean. There is genuine creativity here.
Nice work.
Birgitta replied
I know exactly what you mean,S.E.A.
I can only handle so many sunset/butterfly + daisy Scriptural
images. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that!) Buuuut-
there’s more to it than pillows & rainbows, so to speak.
I’m attracted to the gritty & the raw side of things.
The shocking bits that generally aren’t talked about, etc.
Thanks so much for taking the time. :)

I love the feeling of desolation and abandon in the room, with the hope of light about to come in through the windows. Great representation.
