"Tree Of Broken Hearts"
I believe we’ve all eaten from this tree, at some time or another..
Mixture of digital art + several actual photos.
Work time: 4 or 5 hours (using the magnetic lasso tool in CS3 on
and around every tree branch, then cleaning them up with the eraser +blur) very intricate work. Same thing with the hearts..
"Tree Of Broken Hearts" belongs to the following groups:
Altered by Design, Eerie Lighting, Graphic Arts, Graphic Editing 101 and PixElations - The Art of Photoshop Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

Birgitta, this is an amazing image. Clicked on the large view and just stared at it for what seemed like ages. It`s not so much in the fact that you`ve got the tree looking just like it should… withered and dying while the hearts are still red and trying their best to suckle the last ounce of nourishment from the constricting roots… but for me its more in the way you`ve set the tree. It`s in a sunlit clearing in a dark woods, beckoning us to come closer and suggesting hope… even though we know through experience that there is only heartache and misery once we`ve touched it. This is an amazing piece of art and so worth the time and care you put into it.

Awesome work!!!

Very true. I believe that romantic love or perhaps any love with another creates such deep experience and the potential for such joy. Whilst I do not want to live with continual pain I value love so much that the pain and confusion I have felt has brought me to an evolving wisdom that is opening me up to so much more personal freedom.
Birgitta
Thanks you all!

What a stunningly beautiful image Birgitta. Deep in the murky forest of darkness and despair lies the Tree of Broken Hearts. What a fabulous concept and image. Yes, we have all definitely eaten at this tree at one time or another. Lovely work :-)

With cracks left behind from forgotten lovers,
We heal and always seem to find another,
Who take us in ways like none of the others,
Yet we end up with more cracks to cover.
Often, I wondered where are broke ones went,
Whether cracked, broken, bruised or just spent,
Then, lost one summers day gaining on sunset,
I stumbled on a clearing where our hearts are sent,
For there stood the “Tree of Broken Hearts” and I wept.
This is an amazing image which brings a mixture of awe and sadness to me as i look upon it. Very nice with deep undertones.
