"All The King's Men.."
Some may see flowers..and I certainly do-
but I see a battlefield when I look at this.
Many wounded soldiers..
But then again..I probably need more sleep. :-/

The fallen soldiers of some fantasy realm…it takes a unique eye like yours to recognize them as such! Great piece!
Wendy Slee
your vision is amazing and very deep. This delivers far more than the scene you initially captured, so that is your gift to take a simple view and turn it into a powerful statement and one that touches the heart at that!
Marion Cullen
You nailed this one girl, great title and treatment…a lament to the fallen.
I wonder in awe at your insight.

I love the texture both in the upper half of the frame as well as with the pebbles… the DOF is fantastic. Great composition and interesting title. It leaves you wondering. Well done.
elisab
What an imagination you have. But I see it too!! Great shot.
billyboy
Indeed a battlefield that stretches off into dismal climes. Makes me think of the sadness and futility of conflict which never really has a happy ending, but alas it is an inherent necessity of life, just as your driveway is necessary to get you to work. Unless you use your bike. However you get to work (jeeze, maybe you work from home?), you’re making me think with your art and so you are a talented artist. Nice work!
Jan Kölling
outstanding Image!, – great interpretation – stay awake!!

Wow, your first upload after coming back and I nearly missed it! I love what you have done here and I can definately see what you are thinking… a great abstract work.. Love the DoF in this with just that little bit of fine detail and what you have done with the processing is brilliant. The treatment and colour add so much.. A very effective feeling to this with an overall gloomy feel but then just the right amount of light to highlight the detail.. welcome back!
mariarty
Great maetaphor, love how you see also. Great image.
mariarty
Great metaphor, love how you see also. Great image.
Deborah Parkin
love the colours in this Birgitta – it has a great perspective – it feels like we are on our hands and knees looking – the detail is superb, i love how the flowers intermingle and stand in contrast simultaneously with the stones – beautiful textures throughout, from the foreground to the sky in the background – great comeback :)

ive had a look at your photos and there incredibaly dramatic you deffinatly have a style of your own.
this image is so simple yet effective. do you do much post production to your images before you upload them?
Birgitta replied
Actually, yes. :
/I spend no less than anywhere from 1-12 hours on the post
processing. (yes..I’ve been known to sit in my chair for 12 hours
straight working on a photo!) That’s usually only when I’m combining
them and have about 12 layers open, etc. But generally, I almost always
adjust the gamma, contrast & curves. Sometimes apply a warming filter
(or a cooling one) Thanks so much for coming by Andrew. :)
Birgitta
Thank you everyone for coming by. :) As many of you know, I usually don’t “reply
to each comment”..but I want you all to know that I appreciate your feedback and taking
the time. Means a lot..
Andrew James M...
wow thats incredible to know, i usually spend at least 1 hour to 3 depending on the image, you obviously have much more patients than i lol. i also have started using curves to manipulate colour, contrast and exposure but its still a work in progress. keep up the good work and thanks for visiting my page too!
take care.
