One advantage of getting older is you can see how the individual threads of your experiences have been woven together to make up your history.
I’m a story teller now, using paint instead of words to tell my stories. There are so many thoughts and emotions that start to pour through me whenever I begin a new painting. The painting tells me its title as I work on it. I do my best work when intuition is my guiding force.
The wisdom of the Native Americans has mixed with Eastern philosophy and shows itself in my animal paintings.
Water, the greatest magnet in the outer world for me, serves as a direct link to my emotions.
My motorcycle art represents the spirit of adventure, which is a strong part of my nature.
The greatest gift in my life has come by following the teachings of Parmahansa Yogananda. The quest for real truth comes from interior experiences, not just intellectual explanations.
I graduated with a B.A. in Art Studio from Sonoma State in California, but was destined to work serving others as a pre-school, then a kindergarten teacher in the public school system of the San Francisco Bay Area for 30 years. I gave myself completely to that vocation, with only my short summers to pursue painting and music.
Now I live in semi seclusion in New Mexico with my angelic wife Katie, and our two dogs, Chloe & Zoom.
My studio is open by appointment only (505) 920-5316, for those interested in purchasing the original paintings.
