Mirror on the Wall

Posted about 1 hour ago

Twenty-four hours
Seven times a day fixed
For prayer: house of the holy
On your hands and knees
Dirty ripped jeans and fresh-scar
Scuff, blood hound
for a better life, he grasps
those big words
holds onto them as if they will
save him
down in the darkness

and they said a hero would come
but they keep waiting. The clock keeps ticking
inter-steller-communication,
intercourse, interdi…

Sleep

Posted about 1 month ago

On a steady diet of spiders
Who crawl in and out of mouths
As they are left slackjaw-open
The sleeping body-unprotected
Depending on what time
The alarm is set
So many hours
To wake-as though no time at all
Has passed
Even though the clock
On the wall has been watching
The ever conspiring spy

The moon is baffled by the earth’s heafty biceps
The planets rolling, spinning through space-
Deep vision nail…

I wanted to stop for a moment and acknowledge all of the wonderful and amazing people who inhabit this land called The Bubble. The interesting thing is, that almost none of these strange inhabitant’s live in a bubble. I have been away for a long time..
I want everyone to know, how extremely honored, humbled and thank-ful I am for this community. I want every single person who is sharing the…

Poetry has sentenced me to a life of hard-labour

Posted about 1 month ago

Poetry has sentenced me to a life of hard-labour
On the grand platform
Waiting to be taken away
Before the hand-cuff-key
Somehow slips-
Never to be retrieved
Falling with a loud “thunk” down
The gutter where you never
Had time to admire the stars-
Even when they are waiting
For your approval.
The moment in the life when you realize
Certain things should not be wobbly-
Ladders, for example
Tall book-cases that …

Humidity

Posted 8 months ago

On a humid night of spiders
The pacific smell of nutmeg
Wafts through iron barred windows
Of houses in old milk-bar store-fronts
Groaning with the little pieces of wisdom
Sold for the white-shaking habit of renovated tax-refunds

The dead man walking remains
Beneath a fountain of different flowerings
His hospitality in death chants
Olive branches from the old country-drawing his eyes
Over the dark rich bro…

Away

Posted 8 months ago

Hi Fellow bubblers, as you may have noticed I’ve been away from the bubble for a fair while now. I still come back every now and then to check up on the group and to see what is happening. But I’ve been physically unwell, to the point of recovering from pneumonia which leaves me exhausted and not really up for much.
To the people in my group, I am attempting to get another host, so tha…

Silence

Posted 12 months ago

The shaded porch-light throws shadows
Over a moon surrounded with owls
Haunting the night scars of wild eyed children
Feverishly tossing in starched sheets
As the ears hear whispers of songs
That made her unhappy- for all those years-
Those passages and pauses
Those cast-iron gateways
Of the darkness eyes blink in-tune to-
When the light is suddenly switched off

Searching ahead to look forwards
Into an …

I want to thank the group “Magic Realism and Urban Fantasy”:http://www.redbubble.com/groups/magica... for featuring my first “real” attempt at a ghost story, “Her White Shape”:
http://www.redbubble.com/people/biographyofred8.... This feature has indeed inspired me to use the poetic form in ways and on topics that I…

Submissions: Best Australian Writing Submissions

Posted about 1 year ago

Hi guys and gals,
my mom sent this to me perhaps pointing me in the direction of being published so I thought I would share: http://bestaustralianwriting.com.au/submissions

I often don’t even have the time anymore to read the guidelines. Trying to get published would probably be a full-time job in itself
