Have you ever visited the Riverbank at night?
Come with me…............

Look! The Moon is drifting overhead, and she is draping the trees in a cloak of silver….......the leaf edges glisten, and the trunks shine against the dark water.

Did you see the swans….....flying in a V along a moonlit trail…?

Breathe in….enjoy the scent of rain on the gum leaves and the clean crispness of Autumn.

Ssshhh.. listen…. That “Gllop!” is a fish feeding at the surface. Now he is in the shallows, flicking his tail. Can you hear splashes amongst the duckweed?
“Thud,Thud”.. that’s just a kangaroo warning others of our presence.. his soft foot sends an alert through the ground…drumming a “beware!” :)

Ssshhh…listen….over the other side of the river is a Mo-Poke
“Mo--Poke”, Mo—Poke” That will go on most of the night, now…

The river barely moves, resting in the still air.Although very much alive, she is quiet and calm and covered in her fine cloak of silver until morning…

As you leave, take some of this silver and sweetness with you , to remember in the harsh light of day…
