Please don't be afraid anymore....... by

This is Bicalina. Bicalina has been with us now for almost seven years. She is a puppymill survivor. Puppymills don’t care about dogs. Puppymills discard dogs that don’t produce anymore. Bicalina was discarded. She found herself at the killshelter near death. Her throat had been kicked in. Her tail was broken. Her claws grew into the pads of her paws. Her eyes were bad. Her teeth rotten. Her back hurt and her leg broken from being tossed around. She never knew what it meant not to be hungry. She was one malnourished and beaten up little creature. Her eyes were dead and her little soul had already given up on life. It was a long journey to nourish her back to the point where she was enjoying life again.

This picture was taken after about five years of rehab work with this little sweetie. She’s overall a very happy little dog now. Still somewhat shy and semi-feral in her behavior at times. Even though she had nothing but love for years, every now and then shear terror is in her expression when she’s being approached by a human. Even me, who really never even as raised my voice to her.

Please don’t buy puppies from pet stores. (www.prisonersofgreed.org)
This is to all the furry survivors and the people who give them the chance for a happier life !

I’m Bine and my camera is an Olympus E-620 and a Lumix DMC-ZS19. As you can see, I am a total animal nut and I couldn’t imagine my life without being in nature and surrounding myself with animals.
I would call myself a pragmatic agnostic with the view, that there is no proof of either the existence or nonexistence of any deity. Since any deity that may exist appears unconcerned for the universe or the welfare of its inhabitants, the question is largely academic.

I can’t believe how people can be so cruel to innocent lives, human or animal! It’s appauling and it’s stuff like this that makes me ashamed to be a part of the human race, but I thank God that some of us have love to give and understand how precious life is! God bless you for rescuing this precious pup!

  • It breaks my heart every time she looks at me with that frightened expression. Thank God she is mostly happy now and these moments don’t happen too often. :-)

A great capture and important story so glad she has a forever home now. Although painful to see this expression on this little beauty it displays the pain she has gone through well captured :)Pat

  • Thanks, Pat ! We love that little girl to pieces and she’s mostly happy with not too many flashbacks. Certain situations, however, can trigger this fear and there’s nothing we can do about it. :(
