Digital Portrait after Matisse by Belinda "BillyLee" NYE (Printmaker)
I am a beginner with Photoshop. I purchased it for my birthday last month. I want to be able to manipulate pictures so that I can then paint them. In this particular self portrait I have been working on since yesterday, I copied the colours and style of Matisse, one of my favorite artist. I first put the whole photograph into ’Ink" sketch and then began to paint it the way I wanted the colors to be.
This photograph has been altered so much, so I hope its ok to put in this group.

This is wonderful work … you are really getting to grips with Photoshop. I’m sure it will help you to produce lots more paintings too.
Thanks Dave, got a right telling off by the Digital Group, so I thought , well stuff ya, I will do something and post it on the group and then we will see. I love photoshop, never thought I would do my art on it but its so much fun is it not!

Thanks you guys, I am wandering if I got lucky on this one now. I mean, can I do it again? Not sure, will have to have another crack at it. I did get a CD off Ebay and also I have a book, but like LIlly says, its trial and error really and a computer that can handle all that memory.
