awsome, love the textures put into the wonderfull drawing!brilliant!
love the mark making in this work, it gives a vibrancy, energy, to quite an intimate scene. is this an intaglio print billy lee?
Yes it is , its actually and acetate print, you know when you carve it out of the acetate and then use Akua ink and wet the paper and put it through the press. Its kind of too busy for me….so it never went anywhere this piece.

thanks billylee, yes i have done this type of print, and loved the scratching, theres something very therapeutic to the manual aspects of print making, although it plays havoc with my shoulder. quite addictive! i like “busy” it expresses a mental state . its always hard to know when something is underworked, or overworked, especially with the print making you cannot take the mark off. i read somewhere, a work of art is never “done” it just stops in an interesting place".
interested to hear that you have worked on this again. still a big fav with me!
Hello Helen, I am happy to talk with you about anything at all. In fact I’m sorry I missed your last message. This wasn’t one of my proudest pieces of work. It is a drypoint and its scratched into the acetate. I used brown ink and wet paper and the rest is history. I can send you an orginal if you like. I too have a manic mode mental state and scratching is therapeutic for me too!
