Amy's Travels - Pastels by Belinda "BillyLee" NYE (Printmaker)
This is a pastel drawing of AmyLee, She is currently traveling around Australia…so I called it Amy’s Travels.. (its not an Australian landscape though, I just made up the landscape from my head…..)
This is an A1 Size Pastel. Its my first complete pastel, usually I do watercolour and ink as well. I found the pastels a challenge. I only hope I get better at it. I love the colour though…its been fun.
I will make more improvements on this pastel. For now this is it…and when I am completely finished I will just reload it here. Thank you Belinda

Thanks Kym, I know I can do better so I bought a book today on pastel work….I want to do more because to me it says its not finished…but for today it is done. Thanks for the lovely comment. Billy

Lovely composition, style, colour and mastery of pastels…really successful evocative painting..
BillyLee, which artist really ever considers their work to be perfect! To the viewer it is fantastic – we are not seeing what you expect to do to “complete” the work. What we see is something very beautiful and very skillfully executed. I particularly love the “conversation” between the colours of the foreground flowers and that dramatic sky. It’s a bold and rhythmical work, filled with energy and life.
