Today I went into the city to the National Gallery of Victoria. I went and saw Australian Printmaker Brent Harris, went straight past the Napoleon Exhibition and saw an amazing printmaker.
I also went to Federation Square to see Australian Painter Fred Williams exhibition. Then the fun part, I went to the book shop and found a book I have been seeking forever! I found it, and was so excited. The book “George Baldessin Paradox and Persuasion by Harriet Edquist”. I paid for it and left a happy woman as I had had a wonderful day.
When I got home 2 hours later I decided to make a cup of tea and read my book. Imagine how sad I was when the book started to make these sqeaky noises when I turned the pages. All 279 of these beautifully illustrated pages started to fall out of the binding and the book just simply fell apart.
Wow, $70 down the drain, the book cannot be taped back together again and I cannot make it back to the gallery to complain. Way to go NGV!
