Belinda "Billy...
Goes to show we should appreciate what we have when we have it…looking back and wandering why I ever got depressed I was so fat!!!!! Sad really, now I only wish! NO I don’t really, I still have the waist, if I think? Who knows , no time to look in the mirror as much anymore. Thank goodness, I’m free from the mirror!
Belinda "Billy...
Oh Karl, thats nice of you to say. I don’t think so though, but I have added certain additions since then that I am proud of. Say no more!
~ Ademac
Love the quality and treatment….....well done.
Carmen Cilliers
It’s very romantic… I can picture the lover lying in bed admiring the simple beauty of the feminine form.
Belinda "Billy...
He didn’t turn up actually, about a month after this shot was taken I met DAvid. You should see the pictures I took of him naked! Wow, I will post some of the beautiful ones I took soon. I was so into photography back then. It was my life. The darkroom especially was my domain. Then photography changed and it too redbubble to lite that fire up again!

Picture taken when I lived in London, good spotting Sorina! Fulham I think I was living.
Belinda "Billy...
I might paint it one day, but if you want to paint it Sorina, well give it a go! Maybe you will inspire me to paint it. I would love to see you have a go! I might printmake it but it will feel weird painting or working on a print of myself!
Jeremy Harrington
this is a wonderful shot.. stunning work, love the tones and lighting
Carmen Cilliers
Haaaa Fulham, I remember it well!!!! Well I think I might paint this one too someday Billy! Hope you don’t mind me using your photo for inspiration for a painting. X C (although I have promised someone else on here the same and still not carried through).
(PPPPPSSSSS – is using someones photo as inspiration to create work by hand the same as copying someone elses painted work?)

*(PPPPPSSSSS – is using someones photo as inspiration to create work by hand the same as copying someone elses painted work?)
Yes, it’s called ‘artist’s reference’. When talking reproduction fees, you would charge a lesser fee (~ 50%) for artist’s reference. A colleague of mine once saw a pencil sketch taken from one of his photos; he took the guy for twice the normal repro fee, for using without permission.
Carmen Cilliers replied
Well, then I guess that must apply to most artists, since most artists get their inspiration from somewhere. By the way, I wasn’t refering to copying the photo I was talking about using it as inspiration, and does that still mean I pay the fee, I don’t think so because at the end of the day, my painting, inspired by the photo is not a copy. Thanks.
Duncan Waldron replied
No, you’re quite right, if it’s not a copy, or substantially a copy. I’m just a copyright bulldog. And I’m up too late, shooting too fast and probably not functionioning at my peak … zzzzzzzzz … night night :-)
Belinda "Billy... replied
Carmen, its a photograph of me, and you have permission to paint any of my photographs. You are a sister! Anyway, inspiration has to come from somewhere, if its changed in three different ways, it becomes yours. I don’t think anything is original, its the artist interpretation that is important. God, I just got back from the Rotary Show and how many ways can we paint a landscape???? What would poor Fred Williams be saying if he was there….Anyway, I am waiting to see somebody do this in a painting….Love you. Billy
Belinda "Billy...
Interesting question, I need a visual to paint something, but I don’t need someone elses painting because I don’t want to do what they do. I think if you had a nude in front of you , well you would paint them, but if you don’t then you have to use the picture. If you had someones painting in front of you, you could perhaps practise with it at home. But you would have to put “after matisse” or “after Carmen” or “after Picasso” if you get what I am saying.
Faye Doherty
Great photo Billy, and Mick liked it too.
Belinda "Billy...
Ha ha Faye, I wander if my favorite teachers will like it!!!!! Hope they never see it. OH MY GOD! Nat is used to it though but I don’t think Phil and John would like it too much! He He, hey I even like it because its what used to be!
David Barnes
Perfect, full of character, style, and class.

Michael Rowley...
great image well done love it !
Paul Vanzella
...such a cool image – yes, love the tones!
Belinda "Billy...
Thanks everyone for all your wonderful responses. I am glad I dug this photograph out of the portfolio and put it on the bubble. After all, being in a book and shoved in a cupboard is not celebrating it at all. Bites is right, I am lucky to have a shot like this. One of our Bubbler friends is going to paint it for me and put it up on the redbubble. So I am looking forward to her work. Its exciting that we share like this. Thanks for all your wonderful comments.

Gorgeous image. nice toning.
Alyson Pearson
Gorgeous self portrait!
Eddy1948
very nice
Jim Worrall
beautiful image, ......and the sepia makes it.
Belinda "Billy...
I played around with this in Photoshop Jim, changing colours and adding this and that and then I thought to myself, you know what Billy this doesn’t need any messing around. Leave it as it is. So I did, and your right the Sepia does it enough and that is all it needs. Sometimes “less is more”. Billy
LostBoy1
What gorgeous curves!...you are so awesome and diverse BillyLee!!
shadowzone
really beautiful
Belinda "Billy...
If I use a master as inpiration, I would always make reference to it in my title. I am not sure of the protocol with photographs. I think ask the artist or if they don’t answer then change it and make it yours. We all do at art school…..so did Picasso, who doesn’t? Who is this world is orginial. I actually did my bipolar barbi bronze, took me 6 months to make it and then when it was done I found out somebody else had done one just like it in Melbourne. I was gutted! My teacher said “welcome to the world of art”...

Hottt, hottt, hottt!!!
Belinda "Billy...
So there you are Lenny, hope you are well. I think we have all been moderating the nude group so well. We make a great team! Billy
Lenny La Rue, IPA
With the incredible influx of pieces, it takes all three of us to keep the pages waiting for approval below 5. And a bang up job of you in the nude! Time for you to update your shot and I’ll add two of my own to catch up. Deal? :-)
Belinda "Billy... replied
Er Lenny, I’m not sure about that one…..
Lenny La Rue, IPA
Aw, come on! I’m butt-ugly and you’re not. What’s to lose? ;-)
Belinda "Billy... replied
Lenny Lenny Lenny, you are the best co-host, you always make me smile, which is the same as a laugh for me, because I don’t laugh much. But in bed recovering from surgery and admiring my own butt. Ah those were the days when staring at oneself for hours meant something, now, these days, I’m lucky to spend five seconds in front of a mirror. Much more productive these days. B
Belinda "Billy... replied
Lenny, hook up with me on face book if you will. Its fun. Type in Belinda Nye and get with it!
Aisha Diandra
I adore the vintage look of this image.
Lenny La Rue, IPA
I would hook up on those social networking places but the spyware, the trolls, and the sheer nature of much of the members makes me cringe. I’m trying to get used to this e-mail thingie people are talking about but I can’t keep the stamp on the page since the page disappears every time I click “SEND”...
