This is an oil painting On a very large canvas. Its been so much fun painting this. I want to add some touches of colour. I was so inspired by this girl and her guitar. I hope you like it. I’m rather wrapped in the results so far!

Yea Kim, so excited you like it. I will take a photograph of me next to it tomorrow so you can see how big the actual painting is. Its still got some work to do but I don’t know what it is yet. Just tiny details to make it pop even more. But you are right, its done. I will send you more photographs. I too love it very much and may now start a series of girl with muscial instruments and paint into landscapes. It just came to me. I wander if Riana feels any tie to it, the orange and abstract art. Anyway, going to bed now. So happy you love it. B

Flip you must be phyic because I am so down after tonights show. I wander why I do it. Why I try so hard and what does it all mean. I wanted to win a prize to get some sort of recognition. I just don’t want to bother. I just don’t get it anymore. I don’t understand how the art world works. Its my last show with this school and there are no other chances. I guess I just have to try myself in some other way. Not long before I finish school and then its up to me. I have to do this but tonight I never want to do art again. Don’t even think I am any good at it. I am totally bummed out.

i love everything about this! the composition..the point of perspective is sublte, gentle…and so calming x) the blue tinge in the grass works really well with the blue guitar…and now im babbling!

Now I have to figure out what do with it Carmen because it is so HUGE and do you think I could sell it. I mean, its big and its so great but I have no room for it in my house. Do you think I should put it in a show?

Well, how big is big? If you can find a show that has size limits that are adequate, sure but what about getting it into a restaurant or something – maybe on consignment.

Hi Izzybeth, thanks for your comment. Well, how did I do this? And you should see the size of it, it barely fits in the car, its huge. You know how I did this and this is important for me to hear also. Here’s how:
Unlike most of my work, I DID NOT PLAN it at all. I just made it up as I went, (apposed to planning and drawing). I just goofed around, it was meant to be pink and purple and I just let it happen. I should have more faith and do it again.
My inspiration if you want o look at their work is “Hundertwasser” and …oh just Hundertwasser I guess. He is amazing. The next one I am going to do is Girl and her Keys (Piano). Have a great day. Love Billy

Oh and Glazing, I read all the books I can on oil paint glazing. You just go over the work, over and over and over it. The only opaque part is her skin. The rest is colour built up. B
