Jade's Dream - Oil Painting

This WAS the original painting in oils called “Dreaming of Life”. However, I wasnt happy. It did not speak to me. It was dark and I felt nothing when I looked at it. So I have painted over the entire painting. Trying to bring to it what I felt. I hope you like this painting better. Its taken 2 weeks to get it to this from the other one which I will post beside it so you can see the difference.

    Billy, both are beautiful – each has it’s own ambiance. The darker one is like dreaming in the depth of the night, and the other is like the waking dreams of early morning. Lovely paintings, and I think they go well together as “not quite opposites”.

    Thanks Alexandra thats what I wanted to hear. More uplifting. I need it in my life and wander why anyone would want to look at a painting unless it did do that. Probably why I like Van Gogh and Matisse so much.

    Thanks Adam, I’m glad I painted over the whole thing again. Before it said nothing and with colour its more stunning. I love experimenting with paint. If only we could do it all day long.

    Belinda, I like them both: one is warm (your newest version) and the other one is a wintery one, due to the cold blue color palette you used.
    Which kind of medium did you use? Acrylics or oil?

    Its oils I used Olga, I am trying to use acrylics but struggle with this medium. I love oils so much. I think I photographed this painting outside and the light hit it which made it even shine more. Thanks for commenting on my art. So nice. Thanks BillyLee

    I love so much in this painting…. although i like the original, i really love the redone one. ...ts warmer and seems to make her glow spill out into the landscape. i love how her dress looks like the ground, and i especially love the golden glow crossing her face. It speaks to me!

    Thanks Nancy, I could not sell this one ever, in fact this week I hung it in the lounge room as its going to be a keeper for life. Its of my daughter and I love it also. Thanks for favoring my work and commenting. Nice thing to see this morning when I logged on. B
