This is a 30×30 Copper Plate Print. I have then etched and aquatinted it. I am still in the process of perfecting this print. It is still not finished. This is a hand coloured copy of it for now….I will change the picture over when it is complete. I love this print so much. It completes my series. I hope you love it as much as I do. Belinda

Looking through your art, its difficult to say which images I like most, theyre all wonderful. In this print I like the red poppies and Annya’s expression.

Helena, thanks for your comments on Annya, its interesting you make comment to her face. As when this photograph was taken she was very ill. She is a Chernobyl baby and is now a 18 year old girl who has cancer due to the radiation. She is lying there in pain, I added the poppies to try and ease her pain. I hope to send her a copy one day. I hope some day she see my picture of her. Annya is a real Russian Girl who inspired me.

Yea, thanks Melbourne group for featuring me, I am proud to be a Melbourne girl, after living in London for 8 years and then New York for another 8 yearrs…nothing makes me happier then to be back in Melbourne to live forever!

Im sorry to hear this. She appears peaceful but after your reply I looked again, closely and see the wearyness in her expression. Theres been alot of cancer in my family, I know what it can be like. Thank goodness for morphine. If intentions have power ( I believe they do) your etching is a non verbal prayer. When we look at it, we are entering into and participating in your prayer.

You are so right, yesterday I got a photograph from the Netherlands of a picture of Annya in her wheel chair, she has been getting treatement from the American funding, forget what its called, getting medicine she needs, she was sitting up and smiling and her parents looked relieved. I know that she is a little better. I wish I could do more for her. I wish I could do so much more. B

Dear Helena, I received a picture of Annya from Russia and her treatment has been working. she looked well, even though she was in a wheel chair she was smiling and did not look weary like this. I have entered this in a show competiton for this coming Thursday in Dandenong. Thanks for you comment. BillyLee
