Girl in a Forest 2- Woodcut Print

Wooduct Block printed onto Black Poster Board paper.I also printed this on white paper but loved the effect on black paper. I was reading a book recently on Margaret Preston and she printed on black paper quiet a bit.

This is a print. I finally cut into the wood and produced at least 20 of these in woodcut print. This particular one is printed on black paper with green ink! Had a big day in the print room. Then I added some colours digitally for the bubble crew because well colour always seems to attract better I think.

This print is quiet large and I will be entering in some show soon. I hope you like it and welcome to the world of printmaking!

Another woodcut with the same dimentions…

Stunning work. Do you paint the colour in afterwards or block out most of it and then print. I have no idea with printing. I love this whole series, you really are developing a stand out BillieLee style.

In this one Carmen, I first rolled a plate (with nothing on it, the same size of my plate) all green. Then I rolled my cut out plate on top of it, (to get two colours) then after I photographed it I digitally coloured in the flowers, can also hand paint them in, which is fun because you can make several prints and hand paint them in different ways. I have years and years of work to paint and frame. Its all in storage waiting to happen!
