Neighborhood Strike - Splitting the Frame by

Canon Digital Rebel XSi
Tamron 10-24mm wide angle

One thing that can keep me up into all hours of the night is a good lightning storm. This photo was taken around 3:30 am if that’s any indication of how crazy I am. This storm was perfect, with a decent mix of cloud-to-ground and cloud-to-cloud lightning bolts to keep me entertained. I set the camera on the windowsill and used a remote shutter (locked) to ensure a steady stream of photos. This one almost blew out, but I was able to recover the details of the bolt in post processing. Lots of negative branches with this one, my favorite type of lightning!
