Return to Innocence by billyboy
I thought it was about time to do a collab under my own initiative for once… and what better way to break the ice than to collaborate with the amazingly talented Tracey Mac and her awesomely feline companion Ash!
The background is from a shot I’d taken on infra red film and scanned to digital, the trees manipulated to form the heart and the birds were added from another shot in my pf. I used a blur layer with 50% opacity to compensate for the heavy grain of the film and soften the overall image.
Tracie and Ashy were gorgeously played by themselves and I left it to them to find a suitable lyric. Which was a good call cause when I played it I was totally blown away by how well it suited the vibe of the image…

I love the ambiguity of this image. I love how it looks as if she could be walking into an enchanted forest, with the trees at the end arched over into a love heart shape … yet it feels uncomfortable and uninviting … Tracey’s expression is priceless, full of fear and yet determination … exuding emotion. A wonderful, brilliant collab :)
I confess Deb, I had to look up ambiguity. Didn’t get taught words like that back in New Jersey. But that’s cool cause now you mention the ambiguity, I actually see what this image has evolved into since its original concept… that the road back to innocence is lined with those very things that took our innocence away, and so the journey may well be dark and even trecherous.
And you SO picked up on that expression because Tracey’s determination is indeed priceless and that’s why she’s such a saint.
I love the way you looked as deeply into this as you look into everything you post… every word is worth its weight in solid gold.
In fact, yer pretty close to sainthood yerself!!
