Blast from the Past! by

Here’s a blast from the past for anyone who went a bit nutz in the film days… it’s called cross-processing, and here I shot my daughter (right) with a friend on Fuji Sensia slide film and had it processed in negaltive film chemistry.

The results were often unpredictable, but the process was characterized by electric blues, blown out highlights, and lots of grain. The labs I used to go to actually were interested in doing this kind of stuff for me, but it’s been a while… I think now they’d just look at me with a blank stare and then call the police!

I love cross processing and I think this is so different to the ones I have seen before…….lots of them seem to be really green……….so this is a great alternative to that……….wonderful Billy

Thanks everyone for the interest! Karen, the examples you’ve seen are probably shot on negative film and processed with slide film chemistry, which tends to give the greenish results. Either way, it was fun not knowing what you were gonna get till you saw the result. And yes, it was a fun shoot!

I enjoy this each time I see it, Bill – the girls are obviously enjoying themselves a great deal. The reds also seem to be brighter. It’s a lovely pic.
